J. Anderson “Andy” Harp was born on the banks of the Mississippi River in the

town of Helena, Arkansas, and graduated from Mercer University’s School of Law in Macon, Georgia.  Since

1982, he has represented injured parties in claims across the southern states from Texas to Florida to North Andy HarpCarolina.  He is a member of both the Georgia and Alabama bar associations and is licensed to appear before the United States Supreme Court.  J. Anderson has had extensive experience in representing survivors of brain and spinal cord injuries.

 

J. Anderson is one of twenty-seven attorneys designated as legal counsel by the locomotive engineers and trainmen of the BLET in the United States.  He has represented injured railroad workers across the major railroads that operate in the southeastern United States.  He also has represented claimants and their families in accidents involving tractor-trailers, automobiles, motorcycles, airplanes and defective products.

 

J. Anderson is Board Certified as a civil trial advocate (NBLSC), “AV” rated by Martindale Hubbell, and has been selected in Georgia as a “Super Lawyer” by Atlanta Magazine and Georgia Super Lawyers Magazine.  He has served as a Board Member of the Academy of Rail Labor Attorneys.

 

J. Anderson served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and was promoted to the rank of Colonel.  He served in Central America, South Korea, Europe, and the Persian Gulf.  J. Anderson was the National President of the Marine Corps Reserve Officers Association and was selected for the Non Sibi Sed Patriae Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.  He retired from the Marine Corps Reserve on July 1, 2002.  J. Anderson is also a published author and has written numerous articles on both brain and spinal cord injury and the legal claims associated with those injuries.

 

J. Anderson was a nationally ranked runner who attended college on a track scholarship.  He is married to the former Jane Van Cleave and they have four children.  He is past President of the Columbus Botanical Garden.
