About the Firm - Bio of R. Walker Garrett
R. Walker Garrett was born in Columbus, Georgia and has lived there all his life. Walker graduated from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, in May 2007, magna cum laude. While at
Huntingdon, he played varsity tennis, starting at both top singles and top doubles positions. As a freshman, he was invited to participate in the United States Air Force Academy assembly on global governance. Also at Huntingdon, he served as his fraternity president for two consecutive terms and also served as Treasurer of the Student Government Association. In his junior year, Walker was one of 17 college men chosen from across the United States to be selected for the fully-paid Quest to Greece Scholarship.
Walker graduated from Mercer Law School in May 2010 with a Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Research and Drafting. While at Mercer he was awarded the CALI Award for the highest grade in Advanced Legal Research, and he served as research assistant for Tax Professor, Monica Armstrong. Walker clerked with Harp and Callier during the summer of 2009 and joined the firm as an associate immediately after taking the bar exam in August 2010. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hudson Garrett of Columbus.
